Bradley's first run

I took Bradley for his first run on Saturday. He's preparing to run the kids 1 mile race on the 24th of July "Speedy Spaniard". He ran 1 mile in 12 minutes, not too shabby.

Amy and Trent Visiting

My sister Amy and her husband Trent came down from Idaho Falls for the weekend. They stayed with us Friday night, then Saturday morning we went to Salem Pond to feed ducks and play. Saturday afternoon we barbequed and just tried to stay cool. We had a fun time, thanks for coming down to visit guys. Some of the cousins throwing bread to the ducks.

Happy 30th Anniversary, Mom and Dad!

Today is my parents 30th wedding anniversary and I wanted to dedicate a post to them. They are the best and I hope they have a great day. They were married on June 24, 1978 in the Oakland, CA temple. They have 5 kids and 6 grandkids so far. We love them very much!

Wasatch Back

I've spent the last few months training for the Wasatch Back relay. For those not familiar, it is a 12 person relay from Logan to Park City, each person running between 12-19 miles split up into 3 legs.

I ran the 11th leg, which meant I ran 3.8, 4.6, and 6.9 miles. If you want to see more, you can go to http://www.ragnarrelay.com/wasatchback/coursemaps and click on legs 11, 23, and 35. We started in Logan at 11 am on Friday and ended in Park City around 2 pm Saturday, running straight through the night. Kristina and the kids met me in Park City, which was cool, because they had the whole team join in the last few hundred meters and cross the finish line together. Another team member took the team photos, so I'll post those later.Me waiting at my first exchange, this run was 3 miles pretty straight up, and then about a mile down the backside of the hill.Me handing off to Frank after my first leg, I still felt pretty good at that point. I don't have any pictures of my 2nd or 3rd runs, but they progressively beat you up, and at the end of race yesterday I was completely bushed, but extremely satisfied. The team did great and everyone put forth their best effort.

Swimming

Yesterday we went swimming at the local pool and had a really great time. I took the kids and we went with some friends. I was really nervous at first about taking 3 kids to the pool without Dan, but it went really well. We even ended up staying for 3 hours, which is so unlike us. The kids just keep getting darker and darker while I tried to tan, but still got a little red. It was really fun to go and we are going to try to make it a weekly event.
Ben was so good about keeping his hat and life jacket on the whole day!
Bradley loved going off the diving board and waterslide. He did both without a life jacket. He is really becoming a very good swimmer!
I don't have any pictures of Kylie because I forgot my camera. Thanks Kirsten for taking pictures for me!

June Card Group

This is the card I made for card group. The theme was "kid birthday". Everyone had such cute cards and we ate the best cheesecake at Andrea's house! We have already planned a trip to Cheesecake Factory for November. That's a long time for my mouth to water! I love this group and I'm sad we won't meet again until September.

Balboa

On Friday we went out to Balboa for the afternoon. We took the ferry over and had a good lunch at Ruby's on the pier. We then mounted up a couple surrey bikes (see pics) and rode along a path by the beach. It was great fun, especially being there with all Kristina's family. We rode the ferris wheel before heading back over to the hotel and relaxed for the rest of the day.

Disneyland

It's been a little while since we've posted, but we finally are settling down after vacation. From northern California, we drove down to Newport Beach and spent last week there. We enjoyed a couple days at Disneyland, the beach, golf, and just some nice relaxation. We were sad for it to end, and we drove back Sunday to Spanish Fork.
